톰포드 베네시안 베르가못 리뷰 | Venetian Bergamot of TOM FORD Review

[향의 구조와 느낌]

제일 먼저 느낄 수 있는 향기는 초로 초록하면서 싱그러운 베르가못의 향기예요. 베르가못은 시트러스 계열의 향기인데 정말 다양한 매력을 갖고 있는 향이거든요. 시트러스 노트가 갖는 싱그럽고 새콤달콤한 느낌도 당연히 갖고 있으면서 그린 노트의 초록 초록함, 푸르름을 갖고 있어요. 거기다가 약간 꽃 같은 느낌도 있고요. 아주 다양한 캐릭터를 갖고 있는 향기어서 향수에서 아마 가장 많이 쓰이는 향료가 아닐까 싶어요. 이 베르가못의 향기와 함께 블랙 페퍼와 핑크 페퍼의 향기도 함께 느껴져요. 같은 후추라고 해도 블랙페퍼와 핑크 페퍼의 향은 조금 다르거든요. 여기서 느껴지는 후추의 향기는 향을 굉장히 생동감 있게 만들어주는 역할을 하는 것 같아요. 지난번 블랙 오키드에서 잠깐 설명드린 것처럼, 후추는 스파이시 향료거든요. 지금 이 베네시안 베르가못에서 향을 생동감 있게 만들어주는 역할을 하는 거죠. 우리가 조미료로 쓰는 후추의 강렬한 냄새는 아니니 걱정하지 않으셔도 괜찮아요. 그리고 살짝 느껴지는 생강의 느낌도 있네요. 저는 생강을 좋아하는 편이 아닌데요. 저한테도 거슬리지 않을 정도의 강도이고 오히려 살짝 느껴지는 매운 감이 향을 고급스럽게 표현해주고 있어요. 지난 블랙 오키드 영상에선 언급했지만, 스파이시 노트를 적절히 사용하면 향이 굉장히 고급스러워지고 우아해져요. 난 그냥 생강향이 싫은데, 해서 생강이 들어간 모든 향수를 싫어! 이렇게 반응하시기보다는 그 생강향이 전체적인 향조에 어떤 역할을 하는지를 보시면 싫어했던 향도 조금 다르게 느껴질 거예요. 

탑 노트의 향기가 살짝 사라진 뒤에 느껴지는 향기들은 화이트 플로럴인 일랑일랑과 가드니아, 그리고 매그놀리아의 향기에요. 요즘 화이트 플로럴 얘기가 자주 나오네요. 크리미하고 리치한 화이트 플로럴의 특징, 기억하시죠? 이 화이트 플로럴의 향기에 시더우드와 월계수 잎의 향기가 더해져서 예쁘고 아름다운 느낌의 꽃이 아니라 살짝 거칠고 야생의 느낌을 가진 꽃을 만들어 주는 것 같아요. 기존 꽃향기보다 더 생동감 있고, 이국적인 느낌이 나는 향기예요.  

잔향에서 느껴지는 향기는 샌달우드와 통카빈, 앰버와 캐시미어에요. 잔향에서 쓰이는 향료들은 대체적으로 따뜻하고 아로마틱 한 느낌을 주는 향료들이거든요. 그래서 미들 노트에서 이어져오던 화이트 플로럴의 크리미함과 부드러움이 정말 자연스럽게 이어져 가는 것 같아요. 여기에 쓰인 통카빈이라는 향료는, 쿠마로 라는 콩과의 나무예요. 이 쿠마로 나무에서 얻어지는 씨가 통카 콩이 되어 식용으로도 쓰이고, 향료로도 쓰이게 됩니다. 통카빈의 향은 약간 잔디 같으면서, 아몬드 같기도 하고,  살짝 담배스럽기도 한 향기예요.  그리고 조금 달달한 느낌도 있고요. 전체적으로 향의 느낌이 따뜻하면서 부드러운 느낌이 강하네요. 

First, I can smell bergamot scent. It’s very greenish and fresh. Bergamot is one of citurs note and has so many charms. It has fresh, sweet and sour smell. Also it has green feelings like leaf. And then, it has flowers feeling a little. Bergamot has so many characters, so I think it is the most commonly used fragrance. With this bergamot, I can smell black and pink peppers. They have a little different smell. I think peppers smell makes this scent very lively. Pepper is one of spice note like I told before. Peppers smell has role to activate scent in Venetian Bergamot. Don’t worry. It’s not strong that enough. And, I can smell ginger scent a little. I don’t like GINGERs. However, the intensity of ginger is very feeble rather, light spice smell makes the fragrance more luxurious. Like I told before on Black Orchid review, the fragrance gets very luxury and elegant when it’s with proper amount of spice. “I don’t like ginger. So I hate all kind of perfumes with ginger smell!” Please don’t. Just look at the role of ginger in fragrance. You might feel differently. Then, I can smell some white flowers such as Ylang ylang, Gardenia and Magnolia. I think I told it often. Still remember the characteristics of white flowers? There are some cedarwood and bay leaf smell and they make the scent a little rough and wild feelings. Not like just pretty flowers. More dynamic and exotic smell. I can smell Sandalwood, Tonka bean, Amber and Cashmere in the last note. They have usually warm and aromatic senses. So, creamy and soft senses of white flowers continue so naturally from middle to last note. Tonka bean is Cumaru, one of bean trees. The seed from Cukaru tree becomes Tonka bean and is used for food and fragrance. Tonka bean smells like grass, armond or a little tabaco. Also it has slightly sweet. Generally, the scent has warm and soft feeling strongly.

연상되는 이미지는 이탈리아나 유럽의 어느 작은 도시를 여행하면서 들른 목공품을 파는 가게의 이미지에요. 길을 걷다가 우연히 들어간 가게에서 그 여행을 기념할만한 작품을 사 온 거죠. 그 목공품을 볼 때마다 유럽의 작은 도시의 풍경과, 들어갔던 가게의 나무 냄새와 친절한 사장님의 부드러운 목소리가 떠오르는 것 같아요. 

The image I bring up is small store, selling wood stuff when I went to small city in Italy or other Europe countries. I bought some wood souvenir at some store where I happened to to into. Whenever I saw the wood piece, it occurs to me the landscape of city, the smell of the store, and gender voice of nice owner.

 

[컬러]

연상되는 색깔은 커피색이에요. 아메리카노 말고, 우유가 들어간 라떼의 색깔이요. 나무의 느낌과 크리미 한 느낌이 함께 있어서 그런지 커피우유가 떠오르는 갈색 톤의 컬러가 생각나네요. 

The color what I think is coffee color. Not an Americano color, it’s a Latte color. I think brown tone color reminding coffee milk because of woody and creamy senses.

 

[성별/연령]

베네시안 베르가못은 젠더리스 향수에요. 남성분이 쓰기에도, 여성분이 쓰기에도 어색함 없이 사용할 수 있어요. 전체적인 향의 느낌이 우디 한 게 가장 강해서 그런지 남성분이 쓰신다면 20대 후반에서 30대 중반까지 잘 사용하실 것 같고, 여성분이 쓰신다면 30대 초반에서 후반까지 잘 어울리게 사용할 수 있을 것 같아요. 언젠가 한 번 말씀드린 것 같은데, 제가 연령대를 추천드리는 건 어디까지나 추천의 의미이지 꼭 그 연령대, 혹은 성별만 사용해야 한다는 것은 아니에요. 그러니 제가 추천해드린 연령대에 속하지 않은다 하시더라도 향취가 맘에 드신다면 꼭 시향과 착향 해보시길 권해드려요.

It is released as genderless fragrance. It’s really good for men and women both. If men wear this, I think it’s nice with men in from late-20 to mid-30. And if women wear this, it’s great with women in 30s. Since the overall scent has intense wood smell. I’m sure I told you before. My recommendation of gender and age is literally “RECOMMENDATION”. So, If you like the scent, just try it! Don’t think about age or gender! It’s fully up to you!

 

[아웃핏/메이크업]

향수의 이름처럼 시트러스가 많이 느껴지긴 하지만, 다른 시트러스가 메인인 향수처럼 가볍고 상쾌한 느낌은 아니에요. 오히려 따뜻하고 부드러운 느낌이 더 강하죠. 그래서 저는 두껍지 않는 니트류의 옷이 이 향기와 참 잘 어울릴 것 같아요. 한 겨울에 입는 꽈베기 모양 들어가 있는 정말 두꺼운 니트 말고, 봄가을에 입는 살짝 얇은 느낌의 니트요. 따스한 느낌을 주는 정도의 두께감이라면 이 향기와 잘 어울릴 것 같아요. 그리고 생각보다 핑크 페퍼의 핑크 핑크 한 느낌의 향기가 오래 지속되거든요. 메이크업을 하신다면 핑크로 포인트를 주시면 이 향기와 정말 잘 어울릴 것 같은 느낌이에요. 

I can feel citrus smell like the label of fragrance though, it’s not light and fresh enough. Rather, it has warm and soft feelings. So, I think neat wear -not thick- will be nice with this smell. Not entirely thick winter sweater. Like cardigan wearing on spring or fall. I think the thickness giving a warm feeling is wonderful with this scent. Also, pink pepper’s smell lasts so long. If you do makeup, why don’t you do makeup with pink point?

 

[연예인]

생각난 연예인은 가수 '아이유'씨와 미국 가수 'JoJo'입니다. 두 분다 싱어송 라이터로 유명하신 분들이죠. 어린 나이부터 가수 활동을 하면서 본인만의 음악을 만들어온 분들이에요. 시간이 지나면서 나무처럼 단단해져 가는 모습과 함께 느껴지는 부드러운 목소리를 이 베네시안 베르가못이 정말 잘 표현해 주는 것 같아요. 두 분의 목소리와 노래를 대변하는 느낌이네요. 

I think about singers “IU” and “JoJo” They are so famous as singer-songwriter both. They have made their own songs from young ages. I think this scent can show their tender voice and two singers’ growth. I think this scent represents their voices and songs.

 

[음악]

향을 맡고 떠올린 음악은 아이유씨의 'Love Poem'과 JoJo의 'I can only'입니다. 저는 이 두 노래가 각각 가수들의 모습을 참 잘 보여주는 노래 같다는 생각이 들더라고요. 아름답고 예쁘지만 무대에 가려진 숨은 모습을 을 조금은 엿볼 수 있는 노래가 아닐까 싶었어요. 베네시안 베르가못이 가진 부드러우면서 동시에 단단한 이미지와도 잘 어울렸고요. 

The music I think is “Love Poem of IU” and “I can only of JoJo”. I think these two songs shows the singers identities well. I think these songs show beautifulness of singers and hidden figures behind the state at the same time. And they are also nice with Venetian Bergamot.

 

[총평]

톰포드의 베네시안 베르가못은 반전을 보여주는 향기가 아닌가 싶어요. 향수의 이름에서 처음 받는 이미지는 시트러스의 향조인가? 베르가못이 메인인 향기인가?라고 생각했지만 향을 맡고 나서 느껴지는 크리미하고 부드러운 꽃과 나무의 향기, 그리고 그 향기에 따스한 느낌을 주는 스파이시 노트의 향기까지. 향에서 처음 느껴지는 신선함을 충분히 즐기고 나면, 그 후에 느껴지는 묵직한 꽃과 나무의 향기도 즐길 수 있어요. 그러다가 향이 조금 무거운가? 생각이 들 때쯤 스파이시 노트의 향기가 향을 한 번 전환시켜줘요. 마치 새로운 향을 맡는 것 같이 또 다른 향의 전개가 펼쳐지는 느낌이에요. 미리 예상한 대로 향이 흘러가는 것 같으면서도 생각지도 못한 모습의 향을 보게 되는 향수입니다. 

Venetian Bergamot of TOM FORD shows reversal. I thought “this is citrus note or bergamot scent?”after I saw the label of fragrance. However, there are flowers and woods smell. So creamy and soft. Also spice smell giving warm feelings. After I enjoy fresh smell at the first time, I can feel heavy flowers and woods smell. And then, when I think “Heavy scent??”, the spice note changes the overall scent. It feels like smelling new different fragrance. This perfume seems to flow as I expected but it shows that I can’t even imagine.
